About Christian Planning
Comprehensive Financial Planning, Shaped by a Christian Worldview
Christian Planning was founded by two brothers who have spent decades helping families make wise financial decisions—and who recognized a growing need for financial planning that is both technically rigorous and intentionally Christian.
Our work grew out of real advisory experience, not theory. Over many years of serving individuals, families, and business owners, we consistently encountered thoughtful clients who wanted more than generic advice. They wanted planning that reflected not only their goals, but their convictions.
Christian Planning exists to meet that need.
Our Story
Puckett Financial Group was founded by Aaron Puckett more than twenty years ago as a comprehensive financial planning practice, built around disciplined, high-level planning. He holds an MBA in Finance from Loyola University of Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and has long worked in close coordination with CPAs and attorneys, helping clients navigate complex retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning decisions. Alongside his professional work, Aaron has also served in leadership within his local church as a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, reflecting a long-standing commitment to Christian stewardship and responsibility.
During that same period, Jacob Puckett followed a parallel path shaped by both finance and theology. His background includes formal theological training, including a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary, with graduate research focused on biblical theology, along with pastoral and teaching experience focused on counseling, decision-making, and worldview formation. He later entered full-time financial planning, earned the CFP® designation, and holds the Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®) credential, which reflects additional training in the integration of Christian faith and financial stewardship.
His graduate work was shaped by the biblical-theological tradition associated with Geerhardus Vos and G.K. Beale — a method that reads Scripture’s teaching on money, work, and stewardship within the full arc of creation, redemption, and new creation. That framework is the intellectual foundation of everything Christian Planning does.
As we worked together serving clients, a shared conviction became clear.
Many Christian individuals and families were not looking for simplified advice or religious overlays. They wanted serious financial planning—delivered with competence, humility, and a Christian understanding of stewardship, responsibility, and wisdom.
At the same time, we observed that much of the Christian financial planning space leaned either toward good intentions without sufficient technical depth, or toward strong credentials without meaningful worldview integration.
Christian Planning was created as a deliberate response to that gap.
The closest model for what we are building comes not from the financial world but from the field of counseling. The Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation spent decades doing for counseling what we believe needs to be done for financial planning: refusing the false choice between technical competence and theological depth, and building something where the two work together without either reducing to the other. That kind of integration is what we are after — and why this work requires the kind of formation that goes deeper than a credential.

What We Believe About Financial Planning
In practice, this means:

Technical excellence is foundational, not optional

Faith is integrated carefully, never imposed

Stewardship is emphasized over outcomes

Wisdom is valued more than financial shortcuts

Theology is approached with care, humility, and restraint
We do not promise results.
We do not use fear or guilt.
We do not blend faith with politics.
Our role is to help clients make informed, responsible decisions that align with their values, circumstances, and long-term goals.
How We Work
Christian Planning operates nationally, serving clients through a virtual-first model that allows for thoughtful, personal relationships regardless of location. Our work is supported by a broader team of advisors and staff who share a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and long-term service.
While our reach is national, our approach remains personal. Every engagement begins with understanding the client—before recommending strategies or solutions.
An Invitation
Christian Planning is for those who want financial guidance that is both technically serious and intentionally shaped by their Christian faith.
If that describes what you’re looking for, we invite you to begin with a simple conversation.
